When I turn it on I get the motheboard screen and bios screen as normal and then just a black screen, any ideas ?

So you do see something when you start it up, ie. it POSTs? That mostly rules out a hardware prob. Maybe you corrupted your windows installation? Do you have a copy of Knoppix or something to boot to to see if the HDD is ok?

Check the boot options in the BIOS, maybe that's configured wrongly. If the BIOS has a recovery feature (I think it does) it may have reverted back to old settings with the wrong boot config. Do yo see the RAID screen, is RAID still enabled in the BIOS?

Dont have knoppix no. If i press tab I see the posts, otherwise no. What is the correct boot options for the bios and ill check if they are wrong ?[edit] something called onchip sata bootrom is disabled, that anything ?

    RAID is still enabled yes.

    Generally FLOPPY, CDROM, HDD

But try HDD alone (or first even) to see if it boots then.
I have an odd problem similiar. If I have a blank DVD in my DVD burner when I boot up, the BIOS goes crazy, so try removing all disks from all your drives

I set the bios boot things back to default and it started up but I got a CPU fan error first :s

Yeah, the Zalman fan spins slower than the BIOS wants (even though it moves more air) so you have to disable that warning. Disable the OnChip SATA ROM too. Then your boot order should be HDD(or RAID if that's there), then CD, unless you've got a floppy, in which case it comes first.
TBH, it sounds like your windows is fuxored. You'd have to try Knoppix or some other boot CD to check though, maybe run the windows cd recovery thingummy?
