Is it possible to take a screenshot from a DVD? I'm using VLC player and paint with the normal Print Screen + paste method but when I paste it into paint it shows the film playing and not the actual screenshot I wanted to take. Any ideas?

Tried the hardware acceleration option and there is no way i can live with the quality of image that it produces.

I have powerDVD on a cd somewhere around here, just have to find it...

It's video overlay that's stopping you from getting the image on print screen.
    As suggested, use Power DVD.

There's a great Linux programme called mplayer that plays just about everything (and open source too). One of the neat things it can do is output every fram,e as a image file to the current directory. :) A greate way to fill up your hard disk.

With PowerDVD just press C to capture
