My friend is having trouble with the sound on his laptop and thinks the sound card might be out of place. But he can't get at it cause of the rivets, any way of getting these buggers off?
    Any advise is greatly appreciated

    Thanks

Before going to the trouble of trying to take apart the laptop id check to make sure the sound card isnt built into the motherboard. If this is the case it'll need motherboard replacing (or use external sound card) you wont be able to just reseat the sound card. Might save you time piss*ng around with rivets!

are you sure you have to open up the computer? Have you checked advanced properties for volume and sound devices etc, aswell as your speakers..
