    everytime I order a laptop or a monitor, I have a fecking panic attack, about those damn dead pixels, and with my bad luck I always have to get at least 3 :mad: , couldn't those damn scientists invent something better?

    I have 2 laptops and 2 LCD desktop panels here and no dead pixels.
    They really aren't that common.

    Besides if you find yourself in a state ordering one then perhaps the problem isn't with the LCD's...

    3 dead pixels is better that 1, as many manufacturers will not replace a monitor until at least 3 have gone dead, so if you only have 1 you're stuck with it! Check with your supplier and see if they will give you a new one...

    european standard is 6 dead pixels,

    Ciaran, I wish dell had a pixel check, I'd gladly pay 100 euro to be sure that I won't get any dead pixels

    kasintahan, well lightning strikes aren't that common either but they do happen very often to some people, the same thing happens with me and pixels ;)
