    Hi Lads

This morning I took to my back garden on a mission to get RTL. I took with me a garden fork, a dish and and a cheap lidl sat meter.

I now have RTL and UTV so my F1 viewing is going to be safe.
Why oh why did Bernie sell it to Setanta.

See results in the attached pictures (Pictures taken with a Siemens SX1).

    It's the garden fork.
It will do for tonight. RTL have better live coverage than UTV this weekend.
11pm CET (10 PM irish) you can watch the warm up.

I thin by next weekend my Astra 1 Sat dish will have a perment home on the side of the house. For now the garden fork will do.

Well i have seen it all now and all after yesterday when i come accross a sky dish up on a chimney, with a lorry wheel brace welded to it, box iron welded to it...and finally a great big high gain bbc aerial on top of that, but to be sure this one takes first prize for DIY!! Well Done ;)

You didn't get UTV with that dish, right? You got UTV from elsewhere, like cable/MMDS, correct?

    Thanks for clarification,
    JP

    Ok Update

I stuck the Dish on the house last weekend.
    Getting 71% signal.

    /me is happy.

Now I just have to wake up a 7am :(

Someone may have sleept through the last race

Must look into a Disc switch.
Does any one konw do they have to be installed near the LNB or can i have it beside the Sat box.

    See ya,
    Eóin

ya can put it wherever you like, as long as it sits between reciever and lnb's. Personally id leave it near enough to the dish to save on the amount of cabling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 627 ✭✭✭eoinm1

    Thanks for that Ronan.

I have the cable running to the Box already so that won't be a problem.

    One more thing.
I have two feeds one is from a Quad LNB on a Sky Minidish the other is a single run of cable from a single out put LNB. This setup should not cause problems with a DisEqC correct.

    See ya,
