Help: No satellite signal being received

Hi there, looking for some help re. Sky digital.

A storm a couple of weeks back resulted in my parents telling me "they had lost Sky."

I've come home and sure enough there are no channels being received. Looked up the Signal test screen and there is nothing registering for Signal Strength or Signal Quality and the Lock Indicator is "Not Locked."

Something similar happened two years ago after high winds and a bit of fiddling with the minidish resolved matters but no such luck this time.

So has anybody got any ideas? Would really appreciate any input, thanks a million!

To be honest it sounds like something an installer might have to fix. It can be very tricky positioning a dish correctly without a signal meter. It's a very hit-and-miss affair.

If you got someone out to fix the direction and make sure it's properly tightened it may be worth the money.

Was thinking that; last time there was some signal but this time there is zilch.

The parentals don't have a contact name for our original installer; should I get in touch with Sky to arrange a local technician to fix it?

Somebody on this forum should have the name of a good installor in Cork who'll do the job without rubbing it in.

Hopefully they'll share the info with you.

LOL, cheers Charles thanks for all your help!

If anybody has contact details, my parents live in the North Cork area. Millstreet/Castleisland based installers would probably be the closest to them.

    :)
