    My dad got this chip:

    p4 3.2ghz 800fsb 512k cache

    and were getting this mobo for it..

    well any of the 865PE range..


    just wondering what fan/heatsink kit would be neccesary for it?
    if you could give me a link to website which sells it also,
    preferablly overclockers/komplett, thanks

    games / word proccessing

    normal household stuff

    no overclocking or anything massively intensive.

    Maybe new games though, like HL2 ect..

    If it doesnt come with a fan you could just use an ordinary mid range one komplett s478 fans .
    Zalman's and thermaltake ones are usually well recommended just ensure it fits your motherboard and remember to get thermal paste ect

    I have the same processor (3.2 Northwood) and almost the same mobo (mines the Platinum edition with a black PCB but effectively the same). I use an akasa copper base cooler. Works a treat, it's nice and quiet, keeps the CPU temp at around 35C at idle, 45C or thereabouts under load. Of course your mileage will vary with room temp, case setup etc. RLSupplies stock it:

    You might want to google around to see can your source it cheaper elsewhere - watch out for delivery cost though!
