Laptop WLAN woes

I have an Acer Aspire 1501Lmi about 9 months old.

I have eircom BB and the NEtopia wireless router and a WLAN 802.11g wireless card in the lappy.

I noticed that the wireless network stopped coming on automatically of late and I had to keep repairing the network connection.

Then, 2 days ago it stopped altogether. I can't see any wireless network. I tried re-installing the drivers and interestingly, the light that signifies active wireless on my laptop comes on when the driver is uninstalled, but once I install the driver it goes out and the re-installation hasn't worked.

I thoughtit might be harware damage, but because the light comes on when I have no drivers, I'm thinking its software. Thing is, I haven't changed or installed anything recently.

Looking at the driver history, there have been a couple of windows updates in there but I tried rolling back to previous drivers and still no joy.

Any ideas on what I might do.

Its still under warrenty and I got it from ELARA (so I'm not sure if they will look at it).

    S
