not sure if its in the right forum but just wondering if anybody knows anything about the garda car auctions. ie where n when and how good a deal you can get.

They aren't that good a deal at any price considering how the cars are driven (high speeds, multiple drivers, transporting criminals in back etc).
As far as I know they get sold off at auction along with repossesed cars from Finance companies and the like.
