    Hi All,

I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to tournaments. I've been playing poker for about a year... every couple of Fridays with the lads and every day or two online. I think I'm quite good but that's in comparison to my past opponents... cause I always seem to come out monies up! :D

Anyway... I would be interested in going to a tourney. I've read the tips by musician (thx for that by the way) and a few other posts but is there anywhere I can see the up coming tourneys for the next month? Where they are, buy ins, prizes, rules, etc. or do people just post them in here when they are coming up? What's this "fitzwilliam on thursday"? Is it every thursday?

    Any advice appreciated! :)

    Rgds,

    Dave

If your in Dublin there are tournaments every night starting at 8 30/9 00 in the fitzwilliam and merrion with buyins from free to 250 euro, the fitz on thursdays is a freeroll with 10euro rebuys

    Cool. Thx for that!

I'm guessing Fitzwilliam HOTEL and Merrion HOTEL... remind me where they are if you don't mind! Thx!

Not quite the Fitzwilliam hotel, that's nearer Stephens Green, I think. Here's the link for the Fitwilliam casino:

    And for the Merrion:

    http://www.merrioncasinoclub.com/

You'll get the addresses from these sites.

    Hiya,

Do you need to be a member of the merrion hotel to be able to enter the tournaments there?

I am planning on going to the Irish open. Can I just turn up at City West and register on the day without being a member of the casino?

Usually you can simply turn up on the night and (preferably) bring photo id of yourself. You can get in without the photo ID but you'll be asked to produce it the next time.

As for the Open, I dont know but would suggest that you register with the Merrion beforehand if possible. Certainly if you are going to play for the first time, I wouldnt recommend the Open for your first game!

NB: Neither of these casinos are "Hotels", both are situated on or near Merrion Square.

That's actually pretty cool. Can someone add Shortstack's online tournies to it?
