DVD rental question

What happens when you rent a DVD and find that it's scratched?

Should you report it to the store in case you get blamed for the damage if someone else rents it later and notices the same thing?

Do you say nothing? After all, some DVD players are more sensitive than others to scratches.

Do you ask for a refund? (Although in my particular case, I only missed a few minutes of a long film).

Just drop back to them with it, they usually offer you another copy.

Happens all the time, especially with DVDs and game rentals.
Most stores have disk rebuffing equipment on site, for resurfacing disks that have suffered scratches. Normally they check all incoming disks for damage prior to renting them out again (unless its quite busy- when all hell breaks loose).
Bring it to their attention- you'll prob get a free rental of your choice, along with an apology from them.

Ps- if you want to pick up one of these rebuffing machines- they're about 60 Euro for a small home one for fixing your own CDs/DVDs. Waltons on Wicklow Street stock them.
