Do you mean installing XP without "Windows messenger" and "media player" and the like ?.If so i don't think it's possible. It would not be in microsofts interest to allow that to be done :/

Although you (and I did do this myself) can delete msm and all the other crap and erase it from your registry and startup files.

as fuzzy logic suggests go back after and delete all the microsoft add ons like helpful wizards and msn etc.
I remember with 98 installs unchecking certain suggested isp a/c's etc but they were still installed anyway, no matter what you ticked or otherwise...sneaky huh?
i suppose you can get a reasonably functioning OS without a lot of the stuff that's added on by default and there's a lot of replacement applications too, some do a lot better job too.
    or

    choose a different OS
    :)

If you want to customise what the Windows installer installs then use nlite

If by 'no media install of windows' you mean you have no install media, i.e. the disc, then you need to get one, and use nlite.

I think what's meant here is that it's an ex-office pc and you want a clean install of windows without having a copy of windows to use ?
There isn't really any way all you can do is go to Add/Remove programs in control panel and uninstall everything you don't want.

I am guessing he has a PC made by Dell or something and the restore CDs he has install all the Dell crap without giving the option of not to install it..
