So who would you have picked? Westwood might have the tools to enable him to get on a lot of people's nerves but he does know his sh*t and is into all the modding and crap.
I'd say give it a chance; tbh the show is not gonna be a patch on the US version regardless of who hosts it; I can see it now, some chav getting his 93 Nova turned into a low rider :rolleyes: or a modded white transit fitted with a nitro...

How many young people can actually afford a car in the first place? Getting sup hip hop guy to present the show is nuts because the music doesn't cover a big enough base here either. Pimp my ride is the most insulting show on MTV as it is such an american reality that doesn't exist here. Take some moral outrage please I have too much!

Pimp My Ride UK is going to be a load of chavs wanting their Ford Escorts and Austin Metros done out in "custom Burberry check" paintwork.

The US version is better, because of all the US cars they pimped up on it - the Mustang, the Trans Am, the Oldsmobile.

I also don't believe Pimp My Ride UK will have as big a budget as its US counterpart, so you aren't going to see a car getting 30 or 40 thousand dollars worth of equipment bunged into their motors. Instead, it'll be nifty little things like mini-microwave ovens in the glovebox for the chavs to heat up their micro-chips and micro-hotdogs.

ali g would be deadly for it. at least he has a personality unlike westwood. it wont be a patch on the american one cos it wont have the same humour. theyre all probably gonna be a bunch of dry ****es on the uk version.

Actually that was on Sky Channel (much later Sky One) in the mid-80s when much of the output was broadcast from Holland - the show was Sky Trax..the gimmick: "run, Ronnie, run!"

H yes, I loved watching him on MTV. Funny how after that incident with that German metal band he was never seen on TV again. He was slagging them and his mike was on and broadcast at the gig. Then they sent him out on a crane thing low over the crowd despite his persistence not to and all the bands fans spat all over him and he started cursing to take him back in.

tbh most MTV shows are crap. And the UK version is a helluva lot worse. Why people watch Cribs is beyond me. Wow, I'm going to watch a programme about some guy who has a load of stuff I'll never have. Then they feel miserable (sometimes) knowing that they don't have stuff. Boring. And why is most of MTV about shít shows involving hardly any music. It's not living up to the name Music Television anymore.
