    Has anyone got this Player?
I recently got one from shop4memory.com, it's wroking fine and does everything I want, etc....
However, has anyone figured out how to use folders with the thing?
I mean for storing music in different folders on the player so you can navigate through the files easily when using the player on it's own.
The manual makes some kind of vague reference to this being possible, plus I've found the folder option on the player, but none of my folders are showing up.
I hope this makes sense, the manual must have been written by an absolute mentaller and it's starting to rub off on me!
Normally these manuals are in a semi-understandable Chinglish however this one uses symbols and iconography to confuse, it's absolutely mad!!!

    Hey JJmax,

I just ordered this player last week. It's really good! You CAN create folders in it and put .mp3s in each. I split my folders as follows: dance, relax, jazz and demoscene and DataFiles. I put in about 30-60 songs in each and it works fine. Randomize or pick a folder for your mood. :)
I just noticed I can record the radio as well, and the display is very sharp and the battery is 1 AAA! and since you can reuse rechargables - there is no problem with worrying about find hard-to-replace batteries. Yep... so far so good.

I went for the 1Gb version.... a big leap from 128Mb. I had a lyca RD1080 which was a radio/mp3/flashmem player. It was great. The socket broke on me (where you plug the small end of the usb cable into) and hence the new buy. This new player has a built in usb and you comes with a female usb cable lead in case you still need it... ie, some usb ports are in awkward spots. Anyone else get one? My only worry is it's so light I'm afraid I will drop and break it! :) Anyway no moving parts and I can run mad around with one of these. :)

    Cheers,

I contacted Shop4Memory and it appears my player may be faulty, no worries though, I just have to wait for an RMA.
Yeah, apart from the folders thing this player is fairly useful.

    Hi

I recently got this player too and also cannot work out how to create folders for my mp3 files! Similar difficulty decoding the instruction booklet. How did you actually split your files into different folders? Can it be done on the player alone or do you organise them on PC?
Hope my player not faulty. Any advice gratefully received!

    Hey,

I don't know how I managed to work it out in the end.
You have to create the folders on the PC though.
Go with singleword names, and only use one folder deep (?), for example -

    I don't think this works:
    ..\U2\Vertigo
    ..\Streets\OPM

    But this does
    ..\U2Vertigo
    ..\streetsopm

I don't know if that makes sense.
All I did was contact the place where I bought it and then it started working so when they replied I had to give an embarrassed "It's working now, I don't know what I did" reply.
    Best of luck.

I created folders 1 layer deep...

    eg
    Dance1
    Dance2
    Blues
    Relax

And in each folder about 50 or so songs. Works fine for me for the last 6 months. I notice I need to leave about 100mb empty so it doesn't skip. Thats fine however as I tend to use it for transferring files around. Best little thing I got in a long time. :)
