iTunes / DRM Question.

    Hi folks,

A friend of mine bought a U2 IPOD, and wants to download the U2 back catalogue from iTunes. He doesn't have a good internet connection in work, so he has asked me if I can do it for him. Now I've never used iTunes before, so I have some questions.

    1. First of all, is what he is asking possible? He is going to give me his userid (which I presume will give me access to his available downloads). Can I download the files and give them to him? If my understanding of DRM is correct, the files I download will only work on my PC - is this the case? What are my options?

    2. If I download the collection (almost 450 songs), its going to hog our internet connection for hours. Does iTunes allow throttling? Are the files individual, or archived by album/song?

    Thanks in advance,
    Dave.

    Ya that should work grand!

If you get his User ID and password you can donload the songs and his Credit Card will be charged. Downloaded songs can be played on 5 "authorized" computers, if you try and play them on an unauthorized computer it will ask for the User ID password. They can also be played on a couple of iPods (7 i think, not sure! At least two for sure!)

I think you download the U2 collection as one big album, once you click buy iTunes will automatically start downloading it and it will be added to your library.

    Shouldn't be a problem
