now that was a bit of a shock.
why o why cant england play well.
they have the players, they have the skill, so why do they never do very well.
i guess its will remain a mystery.

It was strangely fitting that the last game at Wembley should be a defeat by Germany. England are totally over-rated and always have been, especially since *shudder* 1966.

The crap the commentators were coming out with in yesterdays game was ridiculous - like 'oh their emotions overcame their talents' and all this sort of utter nonsense. Those guys are professional footballers and should be taking extra pride in playing for their country, they don't seem to be.

I've basically only seen one memorable performance from England in the last ten years, and that was the 4-1 beating of Holland in Euro 96. England were amazing that day. If the FA have any sense (which they don't) they will get Venables back in.

its pretty obvious what the problem with england under keegan was, he just WOULDN'T play a decent midfield. Against Germany he had Southgate & scoles in the center of midfield, like FFS of course they were overrun, scoles is basically a striker, hes not an out and out midfielder and southgate is a central defender!

and for the finnish game, you seen the lineout? 3 in midfield, inc scoles. At least in wise & parlour they have 2 in there, but again, if finland are any good they'll overrun them in the middle of the park and england will crash and burn again.
