ok my 120gb drive in this comp...was getting a bit full so i thought..ill take 1 of the 200's out of another comp as its manly for back up purposes so it had just about every file on it anyway..simple case of swapping...both drives are slaves no windows to worry about ..should be a piece of cake!...wrrrong!

start her up and im given:

    verifying dmi pool data
    boot from cd:
    boot from cd:

    NVIDIA boot agent 201.0440

    client mac addr 00 11 09 2f 83 ee guid ffffffff-ffff-ffff-ffff-ffffffffffff

    pxe-e53:no boot filename recieved

    pxe-mof exiting nvidia boot agent
disk boot failiure insert system disk and press enter

BUT...if i change the boot device to cd rom primary..bung the windows disc in..then when it boots up and asks if i want to boot from cd i ignore it..and whoosh! windows loads

back to hard drive primary and boom error ^^

any ideas, im glad i can get on world of warcraft..but not at the expense of leaving the windows disc in all day

Bios isn't giving the 200GB hard drive enough time to spin up by default following powerup?
Does, say, getting the bios to do a comprehensive memory check, to add a delay, make any difference?

Just to make things clear. You've now got the 120 GB as boot and 200 as spare?
Or is the 200 a boot drive, was part of a mirror/windows was reinstalled on this machine or something? and the 120 now removed?

Also you've tried setting the hard drive as master and disconnecting the CD temporarily?

    ok right

the 120 had nothing windows related on..it was just media

it was the slave drive...i removed that put the 120gb worth of stuff onto a 200gb drive out of my storage comp...also a secondary with no windows related stuff on, so i thought..there would be no problems, both slaves both nothing to do with windows...the 200 in my main comp is just media so i dont see why im getting an error..windows is on my other 200 ..the primary 1 ...

if that makes sense...200gb here 200gb there...but i dont see why!
