    Hi

I bought from www.audio-outfitters.com worked out at about €33 delivered. It comes from the states it only takes about a week. I highly recommend them.

    Why are they illegal?

Because of our retarded radio/broadcasting laws.

I've got a spare one that works with the second generation iPod, but not with current dock-connector iPods or iPod mini. If this is what you're after I might be able to help you out!

His link gives it. Remember you are better off using a direct line in or one of those tape thingies.

/me is almost tempted to get an iPod, just to get this, and set it to the same frequency as 98FM  Almost.

Got my Itrip from the states at xmas. Very good i must say use it at work all the time. Just turn the radio onto 108fm and play all my music. Then driving to work and home do the same again.

yea, thats what i had in mind for mine. i know a direct line would be preferable, but i dont have a tape deck in the car. ive heard there are some problems in getting good reception on the airways over here. can anyone shed any light on whether or not this is true?

Have to say I was very disappointed with the iTrip. It works but sounds pretty crappy. Too much interference I would think -- have to say I abandoned it pretty quickly rather than tweaking so maybe there are frequencies that work better than others. Line in would be the way to go, hopefully this will become standard on car stereos.

The quality isn't perfect, but if you tune in the iTrip to a good frequency you shouldn't even notice any interference.

The quality is better than a tape deck, but not as good a a direct line in.

    Thats what me thinks.

    I'm very happy with mine.

Jim, what frequencies do you recommend around Dublin?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,614 ✭✭✭BadCharlie

Yeah its not perfect but i also think it has something to do with your radio quality. If its good then your reception will be better.

yea, i would imagine that the quality of your radio has alot to do with it.ive also heard that some windscreens affect the signal strength too. i just think its a nice, easy option to use your ipod in the car without wires

    try www.ipodshop.co.uk
i got the itrip and the car charger from there at xmas for 50 yoyo's :D

if anybody has a list of good stations in dub to tune into please post...

tommy, i heard that if you use that car charger thing with the ipod it destroys the battery life if you want to use it out and about. is that true?im considering one of these now instead of the itrip

to be honest i have no idea what the story is with the battery life

sorry i couldnt be of more help to you
