trauma due to an abuse

Does anyone have any knowledge of the treatment of someone who is traumatised by a sexual assault as a child.

I believe they've been carrying it around for years.

Sometimes he has this forced smile on his face kind of like The Joker in Batman.

I know he's started going for counselling but suffers memory loss etc.

They have recommended things such as getting exercise everyday and relaxing activities.....

Is this sufficient.? If anyone knows any good articles I could read it would be a great help....thanks

I've had some experience with victims of childhood abuse. All I can advise is to encourage your friend to continue with the counselling and be there for him when he needs support.
