    ..Jamie Lawrence. Remember him .

Apparently Shels, Shams and Cork City are all after him, though its reckoned Shams have the upper hand as Roddy knows him personally.

This would only be a good option for an eL team if the guy actually moves to live in Ireland, unlike Efan Ekoku and Carlton palmer who were flown over for games when they could fit a game in.

As far as I remember Lawrence is a handy player, but at 34, can he really add that much? Some would say yes, afterall Liverpool signed Gary McAllister as a 34 year old, and look what he did for them. Also, anyone who actually saw Palmer play for CHF last season said he was still a class above most others on the pitch (of course that wasnt hard as CHF werent exactly good!).

    Should be interesting anyways.

Parmer was ****e for Dublin in all fairness, he had a decent touch but was miles off the pace. And there's no way this guy will sign for Shels, I'd be suprised if he went to Cork for that matter. It's a Roddy Collins signing.

I know a few of the Dublin City players and they said Palmer was very very good for them, a step up from the usual Eircom League players, but they did say his pace had gone.

Yeah I mean technically he was very sound, as you'd expect his touch was good and even his awareness for a defender, but fitness wise, mobility and pace he just wasn't upto it.

I agree with ya regarding this being a Collins signing, this has Roddy written all over it. The chap is a mentaller. From what I remember of Lawrence he was all pace and hairstyles, with very poor close control. Bit like Kevin Kilbane in his early Ireland days, get the ball, hoof it and scarper, then get into the corner and fall over.

He did go on a run of goals at one stage though, I think he scored a cracker against Liverpoo
