    Hi,
I have a video file and the volume is very low compared to other files. Is there a way to increase the volume on the file? Is there a way to let it match the volume of others automatically or is it a triall and error process?
    Thanks.

    if so download ac3filter : http://ac3filter.sourceforge.net/
and mess with the settings in there.

its been a while since i used it so im not sure of the exact ones.

The quality is fine, the volume is just very low.

How do I check what the audio is?

    thanks

Best thing to do is use FFDShow to playback the file (its a directshow filter). Then, in its audio decoding section apply gain to the audio when you're playing back the video. I did that for the matrix cos it was way to quiet on my laptop speakers.
