The name they choose will probebly have something to do with the 1966 world cup.

I went the other way and went for the Mick McCarthy Bridge

Bad idea, if the people walking on the bridge aren't wearing exactly the right shoes or walking in exactly the right way, it's liable just to up and leave.

    LOL @ super_furry

The scots are at it too. I got an e-mail forwarded to me today from a friend who had recieved the mail from a Scottish friend with the following request...
The London Development Agency are currently asking for people to vote
    on
    >the name of a new foot bridge on the site of the new Wembley Stadium.
    >The name has to be something significant to Wembley's past.
    >
    >The Tartan Army are looking to hi-jack the naming, by voting for Jim
    >Baxter on the below link. Reason being his keepy-uppy routine in 67'.
    >A
    >legitimate reason for voting for him is that he is already in the
    >Wembley Hall of Fame.
    >
    >Please pass this email on to as many people as possible. Imagine, a
    >Scottish legend immortalised on the site of the new English national
    >stadium!

So it's not just an Irish thing to ruin English voting systems, more a Celtic thing! A harmless bit of fun I suppose!

Why don't we put our muscle behind the scotish vote so? If we all club together we may get it...especially as the dude is in the wembley hall of fame.

    Adolf Hitler Memorial Bridge..

reason: for his contribution to literature and the arts

It was on SkySports News earlier and the guy in charge was talking about all the Scots and Welsh votes and how they are just going to end up calling it the "Bobby Moore Bridge" or "Bobby Charlton Bridge".

I'm with Fade to Black on this one though. It has to be called the Wayne Bridge.

If only to honour his keepy-up, piss take of when Scotland beat them at Wembley in 1967 (to become the real world champions :D:D ).

    I've voted twice so far.

It'll be called after Bobby Moore no matter what tho'.

I think Don Hutchison was metioned as well, being the last player to score a competitive goal there. :D

In a similar vein, it should be the Dietmar Hamann bridge, as his winning goal for Germany was the last international goal there.
