Do many people use Thunderbird. Or what do People use? Outlook express? Was thinking of using Thunderbird instead of Outlook

Is it hard to configure a Gmail account with Thunderbird

Can you set Thunderbird to check for new messages every minute, if so, how?

    You forgot stability :D

The only thing I missed after switching from Outlook to Thunderbird was the calendar - then I found this :)

Now I just need some integrated post-its and I'm laughing...

You also forgot a decent newsreader, built in spam filtering, very straightforward message filtering, and non-convoluted, easy-to-configure settings.

Blue httpMail is what you want. It's fairly easy to set up and you can leave it running as a service. Then you don't have to worry about it.
