Arrested Dev faces chop

anybody else here the rumour that this quality show was facing the chop,although i checked the site it says it aint but bein a fox show i am a little weary(family guy anyone).The ratings for the show are around the 6.2 million peeps mark which is pretty low so it may happen.They have already cut short season two to puch forward american dad.

Aye, I've heard that too and I think the figures are lower than what you've stated.

Basically, Arrested Development's run is being cut to 18 episodes to make may for "American Dad" despite the fact that the pilot did poorly after the Superbowl and got critically drummed. I reckon with "Family Guy" coming back, they've invested a lot of money in Seth MacFarlane and won't want to drop it.

OTOH, there's some potentially good news here. Firstly, AD won't be on in May during sweeps. Sweeps is when programs get highly competitive and face the axe based on how a few episodes perform. Taking it out of the race might actually help it.

Secondly, FOX had this to say

Now the final line is the important one - they're probably looking to see if this appeal goes out. No increase in viewing numbers might mean it goes out...

I've fallen in love with this show, and tbh, best thing on TV3, no, IRISH TV!

I did see the message ixoy quoted on the offical Arrested development website and there really dosen't seem to be any major worry.

Also, I think the future dosen't look dark, as Michael makes an appearance on King of the Hill in an upcoming episode.

Hopefully, strong DVD sales will keep this show alive. And S1 comes out on dvd on 21st March over here according to amazon.co.uk

NO, i hope this is just a rumour. I love AD. Its so funny....how can people not watch it in america?????. They dont know a funny show when they see one.
