Just wonderring if anyone else had read this series, Serpents Blood, Salamanders Fire and Chimeras Cradle ? I had never heard of him until recently when the guys in a local specialist fantasy / sci-fi store recommended him after I said i had read all of the usual fantasy authors.

I just finished the trilogy and feel slightly puzzled as to why i ploughed through 1/2 million words to end up none the wiser and slightly baffled as to what the point was. The language is often difficult but the concepts the story revolved around are rather philosophical and err deep. Interesinf ideas and plot but the series seems to suffer from a lack of editing or ability to rein in the authors thoughts.

    Wouldn't recommend.

Btw: if any fantasy / sci-fans find themselves with a few hours to spare in north london this shop Fantasy Centre in holloway road you won't be dissappointed, they have everrything, including lots of rare, old , valuable expensive collectors editions and some really knowledgeable old geezers who have read everything you can think of.
