What extras do you want sony to put on the PS3?
I want them to let you put your own music in it like the Xbox

No loading times, and no need to buy a memory card..

looks like we'll be getting memory card-esque dealies again. sony seems reluctant to put hdd's into their consoles.

I'd say they'll stick a memory stick duo slot on there tbh makes sense, and you might be able to share saves between psp and ps3

Never thought of that. Makes sense. They might also do unlockable content between one version and another.

    Other than that:

    Wireless joypads
Built in WiFi net adaptor so you can go online/connect to a pc straight from the box.
    Backwards compatability

some way to connect 4 joy pads without having to spend more money.

i know it's just rumours, but apparently sony have gone multiplayer crazy, so there'll be 4 wireless joypads, and a modem in-built. on top of that, someone mentioned the psp... it was always designed to have some sort of ps3 interactivity (which means sony is in the handheld market for the long term anyway...)

Well they'd be insane not to have a modem/'getting online deeley easily' built in, and I think they'll stick 4 joypad ports on there too.

I'd say they'll stick with the same controllers

    dual DVI-I connectors

something similar to windows xp media edition

    blu-ray burner

    silent operation and slimline

wireless mouse and keyboard, with docking stations, as standard

support for 7.1 surround sound speakers

Sony will probably put Blu-ray into it. They want to start pushing it over the HD-DVD [Well, Blu-ray is superior to HD-DVD so..]. I've no doubt it will include a wireless adaptor similar to the PSP to allow network gaming. Sony really do seem to like the idea of multiplayer games via internet/network.

Id say no doubt they will use the Memory Stick Duo Pro's, the Duo's are very fast and very small. I like them I have to say.

Sony have confirmed that PS3 will have a Blu-Ray drive. I sure hope it 'wins' its far superior to HD-DVD, by a long shot (Apparently its also prototyped up to 200 GB's ... take that HD-DVD)

If Sony can get the PS3 with Blu-ray out before the HD-DVD players start to make an impact on the market they will be off to a very good start. That is, providing that the PS3 is a decent console and will sell well [as I imagine it will].

PS2 was a good factor as to why DvD's are now commonplace in every house and home. Hopefully they can do the same with Blu-ray.

    Blu-ray > HD-DVD :)

    Wi-Fi
    Bluetooth
Multiple controller ports - I want 6 at least!
    Network port built in
Hard drive at least available as an add-on if not included
open source dev envinronment available (eclipse plug in??)

Why would you want multiple controller ports? Id rather they keep with the two. Adding loads of players onto one tiny screen and splitting it up is a thing of the past.

It'd be nice to know that you at least have the option.

The chip in this new PS3 is going to be 50 times that of the original chip. It will be like watching and interacting in reality. Like nothing we have ever seen before.

An interactive holagraphic feature would'nt be a bad option for this new console.

    blue tooth would be nice.
you would'nt have to buy the ethernet for bloody $60 to play on it
connection to the PSP (kinda like the gameboy and gamecube)
make it smaller than the XBOX and PS2
    faster loading screens

i hear that sony has a new kinda datachip there gona ad in but they havent said what its gona do yet

A dirty big hard drive, a web browser and email, a dvd remote in the boxand no need to buy any extras (memory card, broadband adapter, hdd, multitap etc, etc) other than games.

they should keep memory cards (or use memory sticks) so you can bring your saved games and other stuff over to a mates ps3.

and maybe a controller like this ;) .....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,227 ✭✭✭gamer

there shud be usb or special port to allow anyone to connect standard ide harddrives to store gamesaves and online maps like xbox does .

it should come with wireless router build in, additional antenna.
All games for ps3 MUST have some sort of online feature, if not, must have send Highest score feature, so you know theres some kid in japan thats ALWAYS X10 better than you ;)
