not another psp vs. ds thread...

can't you just read the posts on the other threads and count them up if you really HAVE to know how many are getting/have gotten a psp or ds? Does it really matter anyway?

LOL - they'll just set up two new SubForums à la Xbox / Playstation then... and 5 years from now I'll be enjoying posting all alone to myself in the 'Wonderswan Colour' SubForum :D

Pah the Wonderswan is nothing compared to the Neo Geo Pocket Colour. Now there's a console war that could go on forever.

You think its bad now! Wait till the net Gen consoles come out!

But yes, do even a teeny tiny little search before posting

i guess as long as there are great games on both DS and PSP they will both be worth having.
I reckon most people using these forums will either go for both or none.
The DS is great because you not only have new and groovy games using the touch screen but you can also play your GBA stuff too!
I quickly picked up the Mario games and Bubble Bobble after buying my DS and couldn't be happier.
The PSP is nice though I reckon I will never be able to afford more than 1 or 2 games a month, their price seems to be the same as their ps2 counterparts and many just appear to be rehashes. That said Ridge Racers and Lumines make me want to sell the wife for one!

I'll be getting a DS.I have always liked Nintendo's handhelds, and this odesn't fail to meet my expectations.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,070 ✭✭✭Placebo

isnt evryone just gonna get both !
ds is out in 2-3 weeks ! and psp is out in a few months !

ds hype will have you all.
im more of a media person, id like to show vids and pics to friends, so psp is geat but DS isnt expensive and whilst waiting for psp , why not !

The DS will be HUGE imo. especially with the show on in stephens green on the release weekend. should be many a multiplayer session going on around town

    Show?
    What Show?
What is this thing you call "Show"?
Only played the DS once so far on wireless as none of my mates have a machine but the chance to play ion such a large scale would be groovy!
    When?
    Where exactly?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 8,679 Mod ✭✭✭✭Rew

Nintendo are doing a "Touched" road show in Stephens green the weekend of the release (11th to the 13th or somthing). Looks like they will be pushing the DS hard and there should be a big collection of DS owners arouund looking to hook up a few multiplayer sessions.

Im tempted to be in dub that weekend my self...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,761 ✭✭✭✭Winters

I might go and have a look at this DS roadshow. I'll probably bring along my PSP and compare the two, would be nice to see the two of them side-by-side.

Perhaps a new thread the week beforehand, a call to arms perhaps to all those who have already sampled the heady delights of the DS, come and show your solidarity or at least let me beat the snot out of you on metroid!!!
    :D;):D;)

[show-off]I might drop by with my 2 DS's & try & sample 'massively multiplayer' games :D [/show off]

Note: I've just read in EDGE that they had playable Mario Kart DS (in multiplayer!) at the Paris European launch event for DS. Wonder if they'll have that on roadshow?
