Converting apple Mac word docs to new PC?

    Hi,

Recently my apple Mac has died on me and I intend to update to a new laptop. However, I can't access the documents on the PC now, although I have made a backup copy on disc. The documents are word documents created using Word Perfect on an ancient apple mac (i.e. about 10yrs old). I’ve tried to open the disc on another machine but it doesn’t recognize the disc (i.e. asks if I want to initialize it).
Does anyone know how I can access the disc contents using a new computer?
    Thanks in advance,

Try posting on the MAC forum.
also use "wordperfect" in the title.

are you trying to read the Disks on a MAC or a PC
if a MAC then it's not looking good - there is a small chance the drive was misaligned, so don't throw the old MAC away in case the drive is needed.

if a PC then that's normal - PC's don't read old MAC disks without a special app that runs in DOS seem to remember the name macsee

    check on www.macwindows.com too

PS. is it a 720K disk (one hole) or the normal 1.44 ones (two holes)

After you have copied the files you still need to open them so you would need a wordperfect converter for microsoft office (again which version of word)
    which version of wordperfect ?
