Which is the best?

    Hi,
Just looking at some wireless mouse and keyboards on the Irish creative refurbished product page.

There are two I am interested in, but the pricing is strange.

Product 1 is €60 in the main shop and the refurbished one is €20.

Product 2 is €50 in the main shop and the refurbished is €30.

So if price defines quality on the main shop page, Product 1 is better than Product 2. However in the refurbished section, the better one is €10 cheaper than the other.

So which do you reckon is the best one to go for?

    Any advice appreciated :)

I'm think the Desktop Wireless 6000 (product 2) better than the Desktop Wireless.

well the second one is a hell of a lot more pleasing to the eye

Is there proof to this anywhere? I don't get why one is €10 dearer and then its €10 cheaper in the refurb:confused:

i wouldn't recommend a wireless mouse or keyboard tbh. I've tried a few and they just don't work properly. difficult to play games with cos they're not very responsive. But if you insist on getting one I'll sell you the one i bought a few weeks ago if you want. €25. It's €37.99 in maplin electronics

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=42550&TabID=1&source=15&WorldID=&doy=12m2

    that's the one

Saying that wireless mice are unresponsive is bull. I have a decent wireless mouse and 2 of my friends have wireless mice, all of us are heavy game players and non of us notice lag in any games.

    I wouldn't pay €25 for a mouse alone, sorry :o

What would be the difference between that and the creative ones though?

Does anyone know which of the creative products is the best?

I'm not a gamer so don't need such precision, although it would be a plus.

So does anyone know which of the above two is technically better?
    Thanks!

Well....it's all about the mouse really. A good friend of mine gave up on a MS wireless mouse after 15 minutes of gaming. You can bet your bottom dollar that those creative ones are sh1te for gaming. Low latency wireless mice are a relatively recent invention. For gaming wireless mice, you really need a logitech.

Cormie, not sure which is better. What do you want it for? A tenner is, after all, a tenner. :)

At the end of the day, if you're going to be using the mouse a lot for things other than graphics or gaming then comfort is the most important factor. To me, the 2nd one looks the most comfortable, but only marginally.

Also, the refurb price may reflect previous use or expected lifetime (for example).

AS for Mouse. Nothing Can be better than MX510 with Steelpad. And for sure i don't think that some kind of ready product packs can be something realy good. I prefer custom stuff.

go for the second one, the mouse looks like a low quality optical, but not as bad as the first one, and id be willing to bet just by looking at it that the keyboard is very good quality, better than the first one

    IRIVER MOUSE

    or iriver something for GODSAKE

I've actually used both of these products. The keyboard of the Desktop Wireless 6000 is much better than the keyboard of the Desktop Wireless. However, the Desktop Wireless 6000 mouse has small flimsy buttons and I much prefer the mouse of the Desktop Wireless.

Both are a bit laggy for gaming - not too bad but annoying at times.

Check this post out weemcd. As you can see, I'm just trying to point the unaware in the right direction. iRiver happened to be the right direction until Cowan iAudio came along, now they are both pretty much equal.

Thanks for the feedback on the choices. I may just go for the €20 deal so. I'm not a gamer so that's not an issue. As long as it's better than the touchpad and can pause a DVD etc from a chair or so ft away:)

Try the included link for some real bargains in KB/mouse packages

    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/justdeals-uk_Keyboard-Mouse_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQftidZ2QQtZkm

I can vouch for this stuff after buying a number of items from them.

If somebody linked me to another site with a better mouse on this thread, I would be appreciative.

In a way, that's all I was doing. Linking to another product with a better functionality for listening to music. Ipods dominate the majority of the market, people are unaware of other products. This is why they specifically ask for iPods, because most of them don't know any better. That's simply what I was doing. Trying to be helpful.

Wertz, thanks for the link, can't find an optical wireless mouse cheaper than €20. Other than auctions :( Then there is delivery too

optical is better tbh...in temrs of picking one i dont know creative so i wouldnt really have a say...but i do know microsoft and all the extra function buttons and twiddly knobs and stuff are overrated...

btw intellimouse explorer v2.0 both wireless and optical and my god is it better than any mouse i have ever seen...wireless mice are fine and they are super responsive...wireless keyboards are overrated tho...if u want one badly tho go for a bluetooth one instead of infrared...

Thanks, I really only want the mouse actually!! I don't want to spend more than €15/20 on a wireless optical. Any suggestions?

Ah thought you after wireless desktop...that store HAD good optical wireless mice but they seem to have sold out. I managed to snag a logitech click plus! 5-btn for £4.30 +p/p.

Can't really help you apart from that...local pc world seem to have them for €25+ which is frankly extortionate...
