Problems on startup

    my computer is mad slow on startup and 4 errors are comin up every time it also takes about twenty clicks of the shut down button to shut it down. I can see the programmes that are causing a problem in the system configuration utility but it only gives me the option to wither load all of the startup items or none.does anybody know how to get rid of these messages? I dont have the guts to go in and start messin around with the registry cause i wouldnt have a clue what im doin.

    Do you have a virus scanner(AVG), spyware removal tools (Ad-aware, Spybot & Microsoft Antispy Beta 1)?

    if you know the programs that are causing the pc to slow down as they start uop with the pc, go start -> run -> msconfig -> startup, and uncheck the culprit programs

    Thanks but i have tried both of these things in the computer config utility it wont let you remove programs from the list it will only let you either launch them all on startup or launch none of them and a message comes up on startup explaining that you have selective startup activated and defeats the purpose cause im tryin to get rid of these messages in the first place. I have AVG, spyware blaster and Ad aware personal edition and none of them are seeing these problems. I ran them before and i think they deleted the main files with the problems but lissed these and now i cant get rid of them.

    Any more Advice?
