I'm looking to get a super cheap (sub €300) machine going that'll run Linux, FreeBSD or something of the like (can't afford €100 for an OS). DVD burners, Gigabit LAN, graphics cards are niceities that I'm willing to do without. Bits I've already got kicking around at home are a 10 and 20 gig HD, crap ass monitor, keyboard and mouse, 10/100 network card, 8 X DVD drive, Geforce 2 GTS, a funny looking ATI Rage 128 card and PCI 56K Modem. My plan was to go down the AMD Semperon route, getting the cheapest processor and mobo. Jes.de are selling a Semperon 2200 Socket A and ASRock K7S41 for €82.80. I'll get some cheapo stick of PC3200 256MB RAM, case and fan for the CPU. I'm sure there are a few IDE cables kicking around, so I should have pretty much what I need to get a system up.

CPU AMD Sempron 2200+ Tray Sockel A, €44.90
    MB ATX SA ASRock K7S41 Audio/LAN/VGA, €37.90
Cheap ATX Case with 350 Watt PSU, €29.99
Fan: SA Arctic Copper Lite, €10.99
    DDR PC400 256MB Elixir CL3, €29.99

    Total: 153.68 EUR + €20 delivery.

What do you guys think? Is any problems with the system or incompatabilities?
