HOST & REMOTE VERSION rrp £169 Stg for £10.00 . I would have to think so however seller has assured me its genuine software.

probably oem software.
youll get the software, a license key and itll work,
but , technically, its probably illegal.

use vnc for free, thats what i do

Cheers again , will the free version allow me to access a program on another pc connected to the a network and run it from my remote pc . As I think I would need the enterprise addition . However I would be an expert on vnc?

yeah its one of the 7133850487 items , the guys a powerseller and has excelllent customer service so will have to look deeper.

That should have been im not an expert on vnc,

Looking more at this software of ebay whats to say that this guy isnt downloading them off a p2p or ripping a real copy and then selling it for 15 euro. Might email someone who has bought from him because it is so tempting but if it looks to good to be true it probably is always comes home to me.

VNC will allow you to run the remote application but it will run on the remote PC not on yours but you will still see and you will have full control over it as if you were sitting at that Remote PC.

If you want to run the application on your pc then you dont need vnc or pcanywhere just a network connection or vpn to the remote pc.

Am I missing what you are trying to do?

UltraVNC is probably the best out there at the moment, better at low bandwidth , an integrated file transfer and chat utility. It also has the ability to use and encryption plugin.

If you are using w2k or XP then there is a video driver that reduces the CPU overhead by 7 times.

It just works, with none of the hassles that come with PC anywhere.

yeah quite close to what I need . I only really need the program to update my worklist when I am away from my desktop.

Basically all I need to do is ring in from my computer at home (not my laptop) connect to my desktop at work which is connected to the lan and access my worklist which is on the office shared network and click the button either - complete or in progress - thats it and hopefully it would update the list as if I was sitting at the desk?

Does that make sense.

If you're connecting into your work network anyway, and the worklist is on the network, could you not just put the worklist software on your home PC and access it that way ? It'd be a hell of a lot more efficient than any remote control software is going to be.

I can't as this is a network worklist which is different as the the programme is in house and only works of the servers.

Can you not use Microsoft remote desktop? Are you running XP?

VNC will allow you to do what you say, however.

Also, this should probably be moved to Net/Comms now?

pcAnywhere is still faster, at least over a local LAN..

Cheers for all the help , no can't install the software as its in house system which only works off the servers and across the office network.

I don't have xp at home only 2000 and 98. Did think of the remote desktop do?

I have taken a chance anyway and ordered the pcanywhere , only 15 quid so can't really complain.

Probably should get this moved as its getting a little techie?
