    Howdy,

Downloaded Java 1.5 the other day to do some stuff. Anyways since then if ever I goto a website that has java it remains open on the system tray. Then I goto task manager to see its u sing up in excess of 100 megabytes of ram on me!!!

Does anyone else have this problem? Any idea how to stop it without quitting through taskmanager each and every time?

Java has been hanging and killing abut 50% of my browsers when i got to a java page. my own fault for letting an auto update go through.

All of which will do bugger all good... The JVM doesn't release after you close the page so that it doesn't have to start up again the next time you come to an applet. Unfortunatly, it doesn't give you a menu option to close either... Basically you have to kill the process, let it run as is, or get a memory manager that can reclaim the RAM swallowed.
