I've got an old blue & white g3 that i love but hardly ever use,
thers about 700mb of ram in it & some decent software installed.
I got a pc about a year ago & use that all the time,
the G3 is kind of "in the way" but im reluctant to just chuck it.
anyone know if its worth trying to sell?
or should I hold on to it or give it to a mate??
    advice please..........

Oh, it's worth money alright. What apps are installed? Are they legal?

i originally bought it from a mate, who bought a G4 not sure of the legality of some of the software really .I mainly used it for backing up cds & mixing down audio from a digital 4 track recorder.
its running os9.2 ,theres lots of older/obsolete (os 8??) software on there copied over from an old powerpc that i had previously.,theres a version of toast, very old version of msword for mac ,old mac version of cubasis av (which is definitely legal) cmuzys (legal)with loads of freeware vst stuff , a couple of other graphics type things & loads of freebie stuff magazines etc its also got an external teac Scsi cd burner which is slow but works.i can wipe /clean the Hd if required so i guess what im really asking is whats it really worth & more importantly any offers???

I'd say anything on the Mac that's not easy to prove as being legal could be a problem when you sell it, but you'd never know. I'd say offer it on the for sale boards here. Or you could try the creative ireland boards www.creativeireland.com , you may be able to flog it there...

Kingsize, I'd love that G3, but funds are tight this week.
I use a twin G4 all the time and have an older mac and lots of bits.
It would go to a loving home if you could wait a while.

can you be more specific on what you are selling and how much?

CPU speed/Graphics Card/Optical drive etc, what software do you still have the boxes for?

are you including a keyboard, mouse & monitor?
