what makes me a real singer?
    2 years formal training
    2 years classical
4 years performing expirience in all genres <dirty metal to opera>

looking for a band that realises garage rock should have stayed dead and that punk has had its day

influences are Tool, Nine inch nails, alice and chains, bjork, glass jaw
looking to make music that mixes heavy **** with some more melodic moments
like the bands above but not there way, im not into sounding like anyone else

so if your band fits tyhe description above email me: colmivers@gmail.com

All genres you say? Cool so you were doing some Skat singing yeah? A bit of the ol' reggae, some african, or some blues, some jazzy stuff, white funk black funk, a bit of scatman himself? Please list "all the genres" for me. Oh and that criteria for a real singer seems to eliminate all singers in the music industry and classical singers too probably as they have probably all surpassed that amount of years of training.

The amount of flaming that goes on in this forum is unbelievable! The guy is only looking for a band. Take it easy, Nidge!

theyhurtme - stop ragging on punk and garage rock. your influences smoke the pink cigar imo.

punk has not had its day, it is always evolving!
you should remember that metal came from punk! and punk is still alive and well!
im not flaming you just informing you!
    good luck with it anyway!

Metal came from hard rock not punk. The only thing that came from punk is pop-punk.

Excuse me?? Metal came from punk?! I must have been whackin off while they changed the past and all of history cos i sure as hell missed that piece of information. Metal came from early mid-seventies rock, punk came from people wanting to play rock and roll, but who couldn't have been arsed learning how to play. case in point: the ramones who couldn't play before they formed a band and somehow most of them have managed to die without learning how, 30 years later.
