there was a really bad crash two days ago involving three cars. i think two people died which is no laughing matter.

however if you read yesterdays papers maybe todays too and read what a garda spokesperson said about the crash.

an garda said "the car must have done a complete 360 in the air as it was facing the opposite direction"

a 360???!!! that would have turned the car right around!!

anyone else got stupid gardai comments/stories?

Was that the crash in Dundalk? That was pretty nasty.

Garda pulls up a driver for speeding. The driver has no passengers. Garda motions to the driver to roll down the window, the driver obliges and then the Garda says :

"Are you the driver of this vehicle?"

    Happened to my uncle.

I think the garda meant that it did a 360 on it's side, like it tumbled?

Didn't the BMW Jeep actually end up sitting on TOP of another car? Horrific.

I work in Dundalk, and the word around the campfire is that the cops were chasing the Jeep.

I heard on the news that there was a statement from the Gardai saying they weren't in pursuit of any of the vehicles.

i saw the picture of that jeep on top of the car, wonder what speed it had to be doing to end up on top of it :(

The Garda super in charge of the shergar investigation (first person to go "whats a shergar" is focking dead) during the first post kidnap press conference announced

"We're confident we can find him, we have a good description of the horse"

    Brillant

Post the Mayday 2002 debacle on Dame st, PJ Stone of the Garda Representive Associate announced he'd seen the uneditted footage and it told "a very different story" This was a blatant lie and both RTE and Tv3 denied it, but the lie stuck and people keep saying the footage was edited to make "the garda look bad"

Passed where that crash was today. Must have took some force to take out really stout stonewall and 10ft railings. Right outside a graveyard; how horribly ironic...

I love garda lingo in general...lol
e.g. A man was found tied up and stabbed several times, then set on fire and thrown off a building....gardai are treating the death as suspicios.

That crash was just another example of why jeeps should be banned.
