Hi recently downloaded a set of linux tools in a .tar file but it was partly corrupted, i dont want to download the file again >700mb so i was wondering if there was any way of fixing the archive. the only program i found was advanced tar repair but all this told me was the files were savable but the trial version wont fix it.

So is there any free tar archive repairers about?

    thanks

I had a similar problem myself not so long ago and this did the trick ->> http://www.tar-repair.com/

As i said in my original post, i've tried this but the demo version does not produce a fixed version of the file only says what can be fixed. Not paying $50 just for one file, hence why i'm lookin for freeware version.
