USB stick - Slow file transfer in XP

    Hi,

    I have a 256meg usb stick.

Here in college using the windows 2000 machines it takes seconds to transfer relatively large files. Using my laptop which runs XP it's painfully slow.

Just wondering if this is a known issue and if there's anything I can do.

    Thanks

    Does your laptop have usb2?

I know pre sp1 windows xp had a usb2 problem. Check your drivers.

My usb2 external dvd burner works ok, i'll check for new drivers for the usb stick.

    Thanks for the quick reply.
