    I just got one of these maxtor and its v v loud, its louder than my crappy case fan.

    I was just wondering if I got a dud or are they just loud.

    Anyone got one?

    i don't know about the maxtor in particular, but my external 3.5" hd caddy is extreemly loud :/

    at least with the original onetouch it depends on where you put the drive. if you leave it in its stand it'll make a lot of noise

    I had it on the supplied stand but it was too loud, so I have it flat now - not soo bad now but still v noticeable when its on

    As I said, I have one, standing upright... it's not loud.
