    what the helll are ip phones, are they phones that dont use a phoneline but use the bandwidth of your broadband connection? really need some help with this coz if thats what it is then goddamn i gotta get me one o those, phonebill getting so huge....

    Its a USB phone you connect into your broadband-PC. You can make free calls to those with USB phones themselves, and make very cheap calls to landlines and mobiles.

    It is more commonly known a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)

    The negative is that you need to leave your PC on 24/7 to recieve calls, unless you rent an eircom line also (kind of defeating the purpose)

    You would buy minutes with your credit card. Check out the likes of Skype, they have full details.
