Just as long as it doesn't end up being wall to wall advertisements for Black Tie.

Actually, I've been working for the past few years on trying to get a Community Access Channel for Dublin. We hope to get a license by the end of the year from the BCI.

It will involve giving training and equipment to members of the community in Dublin to create their own programming.

Actually, I think they are pretty oblivious to most things outside of Donnybrook.

The City Channel service will broadcast 24 hours, seven days a week. It will be a niche service providing dedicated information and entertainment specifically of interest to the Dublin area. Programming will include lifestyle subjects such as Motoring, Property, Local Government, Dublin Culture, What’s-On Guide, Shopping and Travel, in addition to transport and weather updates.

    GRRREEEEEEEEEAATT!!

FFS, haven't you ever heard of 'Nationwide'?

That's because Dublin is where the action is at.

One of the criticisms of RTE is that it does not report local Dublin news. Yes, it covers national politics, national business news and since Dublin is the capital, Dublin gets covered. But the station has no Dublin correspondent reporting on Dublin-specific issues.
