Old Camera - In need Service/Repairs in Cork

I was handed a Canon AE1 last night, to use on an upcoming holiday, with the provision that I have it serviced and repaired.

As the camera was barely used since it was purchased, and hasn't been used at all over the last 10 years - safely wrapped in its leather (fake leather?) case, its in pretty good condition.

However, there are a few obvious problems, and I would like some guidance as how I should address them. I am a complete photography newb by the way.

    1. I detached the lens from the body of the camera, and noticed what I can only describe as branches on the glass, eminating from the edges of the lens closest to the mirror. I am not so stupid as to attempt to wipe them off, but I would like to know it this is a indication that the lens needs to be replaced, or if it is merely dirt.

    2. The winder that is responsible for opening the film holder (what is the lingo for this) and winding the film back once it is finished, has become detatched - NOT broken. It looks like it needs to be screwed back in, but I don't have the necessary tools.

    3. Everything appears yellow - is this REALLY bad, or just indicating that the camera needs a good clean?

As all of the above are beyond my technical capabilities to handle - Where's the PCI slot Goddamnit!!!! - I'd appreciate some guidance as how to approach them.

I would also like a critique of the different camera shops in Cork. I'm going to hand the camera in this afternoon for service/repairs, and would like some advice as to where I should go.

    Cheers

    Iceman

You could get a replacement of ebay much cheaper than getting that one repaired I'm afraid.

    Hmmm...

    I guess.
    Some as cheap as £5.

I would like to keep this camera - a certain amount of its sentimental value is influencing me.

    Regarding the three problems above-

The yellow tinge is only in the prism - it won't affect the photos
The winder for the film I was able to fix with a nose pliers - that was a big concern, because I couldn't load film.

The "branches" on the lens have been attributed to dampness.
It is pretty obvious that the lens needs to be replaced. Which leads me to my next question...

Are there generic lens which one can buy for the AE1?
Will any lens from any manufacturer be sufficient?
Again, Ebay is a source, but time is of the essence, as I am travelling next Sunday.
My next question may be a Cul De Sac all its own - does anybody know of any good photography shops in Paris? :)

You might as well try cleaning the lens if you'd only have to replace it otherwise.
Use that lens cleaner stuff you can get from Specsavers (or, at a pinch, the fluid that you get in CD cleaner kits)

Is there any specific cloth I should use?
I don't want to scratch it.

q-tips and glass cleaner cloth (like you get free with a pair of sunglasses) should be fine.
