i broke my ankle about 6 weeks be4 christmas and was given little physio in the hospital. i went to a private physio. ive been doin all his excercises but in the last couple of days have noticed that my muscels at the front of my leg have become very stiff. i also joined the gym about a week before my accident and am a bit hesitant as when to start going back and what excercises to do.
    any advice???????

Why don't you ask your physio to do out a rough plan of any exercises you should avoid and for how long etc? Surely they'd know best?

Might be better than injuring yourself tho...

I'd a broken ankle, torn achilles and torn ankle ligaments and calf muscle before (same injury - ouch!)

I started training at this time, upper body only obviously, but as my leg got better I was introduced to some simple exercises.

You really want to get strength back in your calves so start off with one leg standing calf raises on a step. You'll need the support of your arms at first because trust me, the strength will be gone!

You also want to get flexibility in your ankle but I can't help you here because I don't know which bone you broke. I broke the load bearing one so I'm guessing the exercises I was given would be different to what you may need.

    Get a wobble board,

to help with flexability and strength, i used it after i tore some ligaments in my ankle and i found it a great help when trying to recover after injury.
