Before Christmas my primary HDD failed.
So I went out and bought a new drive, a Maxtor S-ATA 200GB
but I've got a couple of problems now.
My motherboard, the DFI, seems to have problems with the new drive.
It will detect the drive in the BIOS but when I use the windows boot disk (winXP pro sp2) it says that the drive is unavailable.
I know the drive is fine because I've formatted it on another PC.

I've also lost the drivers cd for the board and using a very old 10GB hdd IDE I can install winxp on it but this then says that the drivers available on the DFI website are incompatible with the devices on the motherboard.

And to make things worse the processor, an AMD 2500+ Barton, is now reading as a 1900+ (~1500mhz).

Can anybody help me because i'm at a loss!

PS does anybody sell DFI in Ireland, I bought the board in the UK cos there were no re-sellers in Ireland at the time (have feeling that PCWorld now stock them...)

    Any help would be appriciated
    thanks
