Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, but I know this company gets mentioned when people are looking to ship goods from Ikea to Ireland.

has anyone tried using them previously?

We were looking for some bits and pieces that still came out relatively cheap using this company, but we are a bit wary when he wanted to get paid in full before giving us any details about how long the items will take to deliver, he wanted payment in full, via credit card details being given out over the phone, or by full payment into his back account, before he was going to give us a reference number, order number, any details, apart from the quote.

I tend to believe that the company, which has been up and running for a while now is probably delivering as good as customer service as it can. Am I right to feel a little off by the ordering and payment process here, or should I relax?

Just wondering if anyone has actually used them.

    Thanks in advance.

  • you know that it'll probably work out cheaper to go yourself right? there's incredibly good deals to be had with Stena Line where they organise a coach from Dublin and Rosslare to IKEA, okay you cant bring anything big home but at least you've visted the shop and know what you like, then a week or two later get the same ferry in a rented van and pick all the stuff up.

Best if you get a few people and work like a Co-op.

Thanks very much for the response Emmet.

I dont mean this to sound short, as you have taken time out to repond but its not the question that I asked. The travelling accross thing doesnt suit our situation.

Has anyone actually used flatpack ireland, and if so, how did you find them?

    Thanks again

If you pay by Credit Card, you are covered if he doesn't delivery the goods.
You just ring the CC company and they don't pay him, simple!
The CC ccompany refund you whether they get the money back off (FPI in this example) or not.

Thanks very much. That is reassuring. I hope it doesnt come to anything like that.

I wanted to use him but he never returned an email nor return my call after I left a message on the answering machine. Couldn't use him after that. Took the boat to Holyhead and drove to Warrington. Saved a fortune and got great gear really cheap. I first bought IKEA goods 8 years ago and everything is still standing and perfect nick.

Ikea in Warrington is dead handy for visiting on the way back to the ferry after a weekend in Alton Towers. 2 birds, 1 stone and all that.

Thanks Zakzre and to the rest who have commented. Slightly more worrying but thanks.
