im going to be buying a load of new parts for my pc and it occured to me if i bought a cpu for the leftovers they would make a full system.
i was wondering what you think it would be worth as a system or would i be better off not buying the cpu and selling it as parts

    amd sempron 2200+ @333mhz(new)
nice big cpu fan (cant remember who makes it)
abit kv7 mobo @333mhz(built in lan & sound)
    512mb ram @333mhz(2x256)
    dvd drive
    40gb hdd
big stylish looking brown coolermaster case with brushed aluminium front (best part I.M.O.)
could probbably root up a gfx card but it wouldnt be anything special

looks a bit duff on paper actually but its all nice gear (well exept for the memory which is cheap crap ;) )

hello, i think that computer would be worth €12,550 or 5 million euro if sold as parts

(by the way mr. stagolee, i notice we share a very similar name, avatar and signature , what a coincidence, let us never mention it again)

    :p

well if ya do decide to sell it seperately i'd be interested in the mobo and crappy ram, maybe even the HDD.

    Got any prices in mind?

so you reckon splitting it up is the way to go, hmmmm... maybe yer right there

i dont really have an idea of price and i wont be in a position to sell it for another couple of weeks at least cos at the moment its most of my system thats why i didnt put it up on fs computers but that said if i was to put it all together with a new cpu id be wanting to get at least 150 for it for it to be worth my while, so not buying the cpu saves me 40 which means id need to get a total of around 110 for all the parts but i havent a blind idea which ones are worth what.
the case for instance cost me 200 punt it was one of their top of the range but that was ages ago and i cant see it being worth over 50 now even though its in perfect nick.
if im splitting it up i might hang on to the 40gb hdd and dvd drive cos ill always find a use for them.
so considering this is all purely hypothetical and i wont have me new parts for a couple of weeks what do you reckon is a good price for a kv7 and 256mb of ram?

edit:sorry if that came out as a bit of a rant but i was thinking as i was typing :)

well, i'd need the parts asap if I can get my hands on them.
So say 110 minus the DVD and HDD so say 80 for the rest?
But one quick question can the MOBO support X8 AGP?
If the machine needs a new processor then how can ya be using it at the mo? *confused*

You should easily get €150 by selling the parts seperately. If your aim is to sell the lot to get some money back, then I really wouldnt bother with getting the chip, especially if you're going to get a sempron.
