Why go SCSI in a PC? You would need a SCSI controller first off.....

Have you thought about WD SATA Raptors? There basically 10k SCSI drives mated to an SATA interface, very fast and reliable.

    Check out www.jes.de (available in 36gb & 72gb versions) , www.komplett.ie , or www.overclockers.co.uk .

For a review of how they perform compared with SCSI's such as the Atlas and other general drives look at www.storagereview.com .
Raptors would work out as a far cheaper option and perform better than alot of the lower end SCSI drives out there (even some 15k ones).

No reason to go SCSI - just that the drives are possibly available and they're faster than anything I've got in my PC.

I'm a big fan of SATA.

It's one of those "I wonder could I put those in there....."

They're hot-swap drives - built for a SCSI / RAID backplane. I think I'd either have to take the drive out of the hot-swap cradle it comes in or, even more fun, find a backplane for a PC? Does such a thing exist?

No panic, just something to do on a wet weekend!
