    hey
    all of a sudden my computer stopped playing certain video files, i only really notice the problem with Mpegs. it plays avi's etc fine. I use winamp 5.08 mostly ive had the videos (mostly music videos) for months and they worked fine, but now nothing will play them ive tried winamp, Windows media player, divx and bsplayer. the only thing that will play mpegs now is quicktime and even that is a bit dodgy in regards of quality.
    has this happened anyone else? or does anyone know why suddenly only quicktime chooses to play my mpegs?

    If you drag the files into the wiamp play list do they play. Did you recently install Quicktime, ie just before this problem happened? Quicktime may have just set it's self to be the default player for Mpegs.

    ive had quicktime since i got my computer , and winamp has been ticked as the default player as always. so no major changes.

    try videolan

    if that doesnt you could try removing all codecs from your pc.
    remove all your media players aswell.

    download gspot
    install the codecs it says you need.

    install mpc

    then see if it will play
