ZoneAlarm Pro and leaving PC running overnight

Hi

Running Windows XP Pro and using Zone Alarm Pro

Left PC on overnight as was downloading a file with Sharezza

When I checked this morning connection still running but cannot get
onto the net ???
Also Sharezza disconnected

No spyware or virus, checked with Norton and Lavasoft

Does zonealarm reset itself if pc left and blocks everything on or is it something else I am missing ?

Maybe this:

Zonealarm has an internet lock feature that blocks all internet access after a pre-set time of inactivity from the user.

Did that kick in? I believe you can switch it off...

could also be your powersave kickin in,
check ctrl panel

could be your dsl provider closed your web connection to switch ips too for a few seconds

Have to check ZoneAlarm for idle time any idea as to where it is ?

Dont have powersave as everything was on and Broadband line was open

ISP is utvinternet have to check if gone over cap on d/ls

Giving up on Sharezza as to slow but have 75% of file d/l so have to get rest
may just switch to Dc++

it's ZAP's lock for sure, had the same problem, it's somewhere in the options, I think it's set to 10 minutes on inactivity by default

I was thinking much the same regarding Sharezza the other day. Not sure if you've already tried this but have you increased your download settings?, I changed number of client link connections, transfers etc and noticed a huge difference. I wasn't getting any downloads recently, especially on rarer stuff, since doing this my downloads have really improved. Id get rid of Zone Alarm if I was you. I was using the program for ages and all of a sudden my whole net connection dropped,the program went nuts,kept getting some "vsinit.dll" error assoicated with ZoneAlarm,couldnt uninstall the program,couldnt update the program,spent 4 days trying to fix it and had to format my hd in the end. Using Kerio Personal Firewall atm and its great
