My Geography sucks A$$. And they say the yanks couldn't point out Ireland on a globe

Well at least I got within a few clicks of Dublin, Rome, London and Paris. I was a bit (or way) out on most of the rest.

3493km away in total. I at least managed to get the right country each time, so it's not too bad. Closest was to London (3km) and Lisbon (8km). Mostly I was within 50km, but there were one or two over 500km away.

I teach English as a foreign language and generally when Chinese students come over first they are pretty ignorant of anything that isn't Chinese, one day I asked a recently arrived student to show me where China was on a map of the world, after a few minutes consideration he pointed at the whole of Africa!!! when I asked him why he chose that he said because it was the biggest and in the middle of the world, twas hard to hold back the sniggers.

Now do it for your country! Try to get Ireland's percentage up a bit - we're currently 124th - we can do better ;)

I used to work with a Chinese guy who said they learned world history and geography in school including the history of Ireland (like the famine) and he said they had to know how to draw a map of the world and label all the main countries.

    What fun!

There's still a cold war in the geographical part of my brain, though - I know the west of Europe far far better than the east!
